Los Alamitos Crash Kills Woman
A 76-year-old woman died Monday after an accident in which she apparently tried to turn left in front of two oncoming cars in Los Alamitos.
The woman’s name was not released pending notification of relatives, according to Los Alamitos Police Sgt. Phil Arnold. “We’re still trying to gather all the facts to determine what happened,†he said.
The accident occurred about 3 p.m., when the woman in a Ford Tempo westbound on Katella Avenue began turning south onto Siboney Street and was hit by two eastbound cars.
No other injuries were reported, Arnold said. The accident closed eastbound traffic on Katella from Bloomfield Street to Walker Avenue for about five hours.
