Admiring Willis Edwards’ Ideals
Your wonderfully crafted cover article on thorny social entrepreneur Willis Edwards resonates with truth (“The Fixer,†by John L. Mitchell, Nov. 3). I worked with Willis for several years at USC in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, and I can tell you that he is one of the most creative and intelligent people I have ever met. As the article pointed out, his love and dedication to the plight of the common person is extraordinary. He advised students on their problems and life choices, and he mentored a new class of future American leaders in business, entertainment and politics.
Yes, Willis is a “fixer†and an ideas man, but he’s also an ideals man. Everything in the world was once, at some time, just an idea in someone’s mind. We are blessed and made richer and better as a society by those who fix our conscious minds on our real treasures. Thank you for some good news.
