Ex-Deputy Sentenced to 2 Years for Grand Theft
A former sheriff’s deputy convicted of grand theft was sentenced Tuesday to two years in state prison, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office announced.
David Osorio was convicted in May of using stolen credit cards to buy nearly $8,900 worth of custom car wheels and rims.
A jury found him guilty of two counts of grand theft and commercial burglary. According to prosecutors, he used the credit cards at a Bellflower automotive business without authorization.
On Tuesday, Superior Court Judge William F. Fahey sentenced Osorio to prison and ordered him to reimburse two banks for the $8,900 and pay $1,000 in fines.
At the time of his arrest, Osorio was working at the North County Correctional Facility.
