Kids, we asked you to send us...
Kids, we asked you to send us short poems that you have written all by yourself. Here are some of them.

I Hold in My Hand
I hold in my hand a pencil,
I use it well in school.
When I get my paper,
It is my working tool.
When the day is over,
I put it well away.
If it were to drop on the floor,
There would be nothing left to say.

aylight Savings Time
Why do we have to go to bed
Just because our parents said,
It’s 8 o’clock, the usual time?
And so, reluctantly we climb
Into our beds while it’s still light.
(We’d rather just stay up all night!)

Monroe Elementary, Santa Barbara

Different Cultures
Some are big,
And some are small.
Though people are different,
We should respect them all.
--Gray, 8
Pinecrest Elementary, Woodland Hills

Rainbows
When the rainbow comes
And the clouds go away,
All the kids come out
For a fun-filled day.
--Sydney, 7
Del Mar Hills Elementary, Del Mar

Two Seasons
Spring
Bright, peaceful
Blooming, growing, chirping
Birds, flowers, leaves, trees
Crunching, blowing, swaying
Chilly, colorful
Fall
