Indonesian Pleads Guilty to Possessing Explosives

An Indonesian suspected of planning lethal bombing attacks in the Philippines pleaded guilty to illegal possession of explosives and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Fathur Rohman Al-Ghozi entered the plea in the southern Philippine city of General Santos, where the explosives were found earlier this year. He is believed to be a leader of the Jemaah Islamiah, a Southeast Asia-based group suspected of having links to the Al Qaeda terrorist network.
Al-Ghozi could also face murder charges for December 2000 bombings that killed 22 people.
