No. 6 Huntington Beach Edison (2-0) vs. No. 7 Santa Ana Mater Dei (1-2) at Santa Ana Stadium, Friday, 7:30 p.m.

Mater Dei is trying to avoid three consecutive losses for the first time since 1989, when it opened the season with three defeats before beating Edison. While Monarch senior quarterback Colt Brennan has struggled and was replaced by freshman Jason Forcier in the fourth quarter of last week’s 34-6 loss to national power Concord De La Salle, Coach Bruce Rollinson insists there’s no quarterback controversy. Edison quarterback Tommy Grady has completed 52% of his passes with three touchdowns in two games.
