Matua Will Not Have to Sit Out a Game

Wilmington Banning lineman Fred Matua will not miss the Pilots’ next game after the City Section determined that he was wrongfully ejected during Banning’s 34-0 loss to Newhall Hart last Friday.
Banning appealed to the section and Barbara Fiege, the section’s director of athletics, said the rules committee decided Matua was not involved in the play for which he was ejected. Matua was one of three Banning players who were ejected in a game that featured eight personal-foul penalties against the Pilots.
