Freeway Repair to Continue 2 More Weeks
A Ventura Freeway maintenance project that has been slowing traffic between Ventura and Oxnard since Oct. 11 will continue for another two weeks, Caltrans officials said Friday.
The project involves spreading oil on the asphalt from East Main Street in Ventura to the southern county line. The project will require alternating lane closures. The work will be done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Demattia said the work is being scheduled to avoid the rush hours. He urged motorists to pay attention to the signs warning of a lane closure and to slow down. He said there have been traffic jams.
