Police arrested a Ventura man Wednesday after he allegedly attacked his boss at a Target store with a box cutter upon learning he had been fired.
Travis Akers, 25, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism after the 7 a.m. Wednesday incident, said Ventura Police Sgt. David Wilson.
“He showed up for work and he was pulled into the office and told he was terminated,” Wilson said. “He became irate and heated.”
Akers’ supervisor, Paul Fode, 28, sustained minor cuts but refused treatment, Wilson said.
Wilson said officers found Akers, who also is accused of smashing a glass door, in the parking lot of the Main Street store. He was arrested without incident, Wilson said.
