A California Highway Patrol officer was injured Tuesday when a pickup crashed into a car the officer had pulled over for a traffic violation, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 6:15 p.m. on Pearblossom Highway, west of Largo Vista Road, five miles from the San Bernardino County line, said a CHP spokesman, Officer Spencer Ammons.
The officer was standing beside the ticketed vehicle away from the road when the pickup slammed into it, pushing the officer to the ground, Ammons said.
The officer was airlifted by a Los Angeles County Fire Department crew to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills. He was in stable condition.
