Prop. BB Repairs
Re “School Repairs Face $600-Million Shortfall,†Nov. 29: As a veteran teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District, it does not surprise me that the district is running out of money for Proposition BB repairs. I watch daily the incompetence and ineptitude of the companies hired to make those repairs. At my school alone we have half-painted classrooms, sink faucets that are too short and flow onto the counter and ceiling tiles that fall daily. (All of these were repairs done under BB oversight.) Many projects are started, stopped and started again, each time at the cost of thousands of dollars to the district. It has become very clear that no one in the district knows what the heck is going on.
