Palm Pulls Features From MyPalm Internet Portal
Bloomberg News
Palm Inc. plans to pull calendar and address-book features from its MyPalm Internet portal, as the largest maker of hand-held computers attempts to cut costs and shed unprofitable businesses.
After Jan. 10, subscribers won’t be able to get information entered on the MyPalm service, said Palm spokeswoman Ronni Sarmanian.
The service allows users to store calendar and address items on the site and use their hand-held devices to retrieve and update the data. The site will continue to offer wireless e-mail for subscribers of the Palm.net service, Sarmanian said.
Sales this year have missed forecasts.
