San Pedro 15, Narbonne 6--Senior Kenny Taylor rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns in 30 carries to keep the Pirates’ playoff hopes alive and dealt a severe blow to those of their Marine League rival.
The Gauchos (4-4, 2-3) mounted a late rally, but saw two fourth-quarter drives stall inside San Pedro’s five-yard line.
Junior cornerback Matt Dragich preserved the victory for San Pedro (4-5, 3-2) by intercepting Narbonne’s Monty Long in the end zone with 58 seconds remaining.
The Pirates clinched a tie for second in league with Gardena, a 21-14 winner over Washington, and Banning.
