A body discovered in a Los Alamitos business park was identified Wednesday as that of a 17-year-old boy from Artesia, police said.
His name was being withheld because of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, said Los Alamitos Police Sgt. Jeff Travis.
The boy’s body was wrapped in a blanket and left near a dumpster not far from the intersection of Los Alamitos Boulevard and Cerritos Avenue. It was discovered by employees of a disposal company about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police believe the body had been dumped at the Los Alamitos Business Park before dawn that day.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death is pending.
