California Bank & Trust has promoted Jim Denver to senior vice president.

Denver will lead CB&T;’s Los Angeles metro office. Before joining California Bank & Trust in 1999, Denver managed two Los Angeles branches at City Bank.

Swietlik

Crissy DeSimone has joined Santa Monica-based editing facility Swietlik as a producer.

DeSimone’s initial projects include producing national campaigns for Mitsubishi and Kinko’s.

She was previously a producer with Straight Cut, where her work included spots for Toyota, Southwestern Bell and EarthLink.

Phelps Group

Cynthia Ewell Clotzman has joined Santa Monica-based Phelps Group as vice president for customer relationship management. She will be responsible for developing direct-marketing acquisition, conversion and retention strategies.

Previously, Clotzman was strategic marketing director at US Sales Corp.

SEMA

The Specialty Equipment Market Assn. has appointed Jon Apogee marketing director.

Apogee joins SEMA with more than 25 years in the automotive industry, most recently in management at Hyundai Motor America, Weber Carburetor Sales and Firestone Tire & Rubber.

Diamond Bar-based SEMA represents the $24-billion specialty automotive industry.
