In the Century League:
Canyon 4, Villa Park 3 (8 innings)--Rocky Roquet hit a two-out, bases-loaded single in the top of the eighth to score Justin McClure with the winning run for visiting Canyon (7-3, 3-0). Villa Park, which scored twice in the seventh to tie it, is 6-4, 2-1.
Foothill 9, Orange 5--Senior Phil Alderson had two hits, two RBIs and two runs for host Foothill (7-3, 2-1). Reid Horton pitched a complete game for his third win. Tucker Boyd had three hits, two RBIs and two runs for Orange.
In the Freeway League:
Sonora 3, Buena Park 2--Senior Jacob Mendrin pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts for his second win. He retired the last 11 batters for Sonora (8-1, 3-0).
In the Garden Grove League:
No. 1 La Quinta 11, Rancho Alamitos 0 (5, mercy)--Jose Castaneda and Ian Stewart hit grand slams for visiting La Quinta (11-0, 2-0).
In the Golden West League:
Santa Ana 2, Tustin 2--Center fielder David Miller of Tustin tied the score with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh of a game called after nine because of darkness. In the Orange League:
Brea Olinda 3, Magnolia 0--Jon Pedersen pitched a two-hitter and struck out six for host Brea Olinda (4-6, 2-1).
Savanna 5, Anaheim 4 (9)--Mark Benjamin and Steven White each hit two-run homers in the fourth inning for host Savanna (4-6, 3-0), but Anaheim (4-6, 0-3) scored runs in the sixth and seventh innings to tie it, 4-4, and John Tackett walked with the bases loaded in the ninth to win it.
In the South Coast League:
Mission Viejo 3, No. 6 Trabuco Hills 2--Mike Thompson of Trabuco Hills (7-2, 2-1) tied the score with a two-run home run in the top of the seventh, but designated hitter Nick Dustin of Mission Viejo (6-2-1, 2-0-1) drove in the winning run in the bottom of the inning.
In the Sunset League:
No. 4 Esperanza 8, Huntington Beach 3--Robbie Gingg hit a two-run home run and drove in three runs, and Rick Taloa had two hits and two RBIs for Esperanza (9-1, 3-0).
