Angeles Quartet to Launch Season

The Angeles String Quartet will open the Orange County Performing Arts Center’s 2001-02 concert series at 4 p.m. Nov. 11 with a program to be announced.

Concert--The American String Quartet will play Jan. 10, 2002, in Founders Hall at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. An incorrect date was published Tuesday in a story announcing the center’s 2001-02 chamber concert series.
* Dec. 1, 8 p.m.: Emerson String Quartet: Works by Haydn, Beethoven, Bartok.
* Jan. 2, 8 p.m.: American String Quartet, with violist Brian Dembow: Works by Mozart, Dvorak, Bartok.
* Feb. 24, 4 p.m.: Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Ensemble: Works by Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Percy Grainger.
* April 2, 2002, 8 p.m.: Australian Chamber Orchestra, with pianist Stephen Hough: Works by Haydn, Mozart, Peter Sculthorpe, Bartok.
* April. 25, 2002, 8 p.m.: Eroica Trio. Program to be announced.
Completing the series will be two recitals, previously announced, by soprano Renee Fleming (March 17, 2002) and bass Samuel Ramey (April 7, 2002). Both recitals, co-sponsored with Opera Pacific, will start at 2 p.m. in Segerstrom Hall.
