Never a show that takes itself too seriously, the MTV Movie Awards didn’t disappoint on the fashion front. At this year’s event at the Shrine Auditorium broadcast Thursday night, the red-carpet looks ranged from the zany to the demure, and everything in between.

Destiny’s Child Beyonce Knowles went glam in a low-cut gold dress, accessorized with a flower pinned in her hair. Pop star Pink, on the other hand, needed little more than hershocking pink locks and a smoochable pooch to make a style statement.

Taiwanese actress Zhang Ziyi chose an elegant skirt and scarf-shirt ensemble created by “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon†costume designer Timmy Yip; Christina Aguilera captured the spirit of “Moulin Rouge†in a sexy corset and lace-up, pinstripe jeans by L.A. designer Henry Duarte for Mink Vox.

The men dressed more quietly, with Sean “Puffy†Combs (the name P. Diddy was, thankfully, a joke) in a crisp, classy suit from his own Sean John line and Samuel L. Jackson in a spiffy Giorgio Armani suit and his trademark Kangol hat.
