Gov. Bush Criticizes Report on Election
Gov. Jeb Bush lashed out at a report criticizing last year’s presidential election process in Florida, saying the panel that produced it was partisan and politically motivated.
Bush said the Democratic-led U.S. Commission on Civil Rights erred earlier this week in leaking its report without giving state officials or the Republican member of the panel a chance to respond.
The draft report blames Bush and Secretary of State Katherine Harris for the handling of the 2000 election, which it said was marked by “injustice, ineptitude and inefficiency.”
