Man Flees With $800 in Robbery of Hotel
A man with a weapon similar to a machine gun jumped the counter of a hotel Wednesday, took $800 from a register and fled, police said.
The man entered the InnSuites Hotel in the 7500 block of Beach Boulevard shortly after 1:30 a.m., said Buena Park Police Sgt. Rich Pena.
The man ordered the clerk to open the cash register and lie on the floor. He then took money from the register and fled, police said. No one was injured.
Police are seeking a man, described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds.
Investigators said similar robberies took place in Buena Park about a month ago, and in Garden Grove about two weeks ago.
