* Tuesday, the Conference Board issues its July index of consumer confidence, often used as a gauge for changes in consumer spending, which accounts for two-thirds of the economy.
* Tuesday, the Commerce Department will report on personal income and consumer spending in June.
* Wednesday, the Commerce Department will report on construction spending in June.
* Wednesday, the National Assn. of Purchasing Management releases its factory index for July.
* Friday, the Labor Department will report on the nation’s unemployment rate for July. It stood at 4.5% in June.
