Woman’s Body Found; Transient Arrested
A transient was being transported here from Arizona on Monday after his information led to the discovery of the body of a 45-year-old woman.
John Kosmider, 42, who may be linked to the death of Patricia Bowers, was arrested near the California border on suspicion of drunk driving by California Highway Patrol officers, said Los Angeles Police Det. Frank Bishop.
Bishop said it appeared that Bowers, whose body was found in a shack near Wheatland Avenue in the Shadow Hills area, was killed by blunt-force trauma several days ago.
Kosmider was driving Bowers’ car when he was arrested and was about five hours by car from where her body was found, Bishop said.
