11 Named to OCTA Advisory Committee

Eleven people were appointed this week to a committee that provides input to the Orange County Transportation Authority on promoting public transit and communicating with commuters who have special transportation needs.

OCTA board members made the assignments to the 28-member Special Needs in Transit Advisory Committee on Monday, after receiving more than 1,400 applications from throughout the county. The appointments are for staggered three-year terms.

The new appointees are Art Hendrickson, Vantage Foundation, of Mission Viejo; Pat Davis, Council on Aging, of Huntington Beach; George Johnson, Feedback Foundation, of Fullerton; Michael Maldonado, Rehabilitation Institute of O.C., of Tustin; George McLaren, Anaheim Senior Citizens Commission, of Anaheim; Pamela Mokler, Area Agency on Aging, of Rossmoor; and Sheldon Singer, Boys & Girls Club, of Garden Grove.

The reappointed members are Lisa Almili, Easter Seals Society, of Anaheim; Dorine Dyball, Tustin Senior Center, of Tustin; Dana Haas, Placentia Disability Committee, of Placentia; and Gary Mudge, California Paralyzed Veterans, of Garden Grove.

“The committee has played an instrumental role on a variety of transportation issues affecting senior citizens and individuals with disabilities,†committee Chairman Paul Miller said.
