The Irvine maker of database software reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $8.7 million, or 10 cents a share, which included $15.2 million for amortization of goodwill and other compensation costs. A year earlier, the company earned $1.6 million, or 2 cents a share. Revenue rose to $56.1 million from $24.3 million. For the year, the company said it lost $25.1 million, or 29 cents a share, contrasted with net income of $2.8 million, or 3 cents a share, for the previous year. Revenue grew to $165.6 million from $70.9 million.
