Santa Ana Valley Wins Water Polo Tournament

Santa Ana Valley defeated Santa Ana, 16-4, to win the championship of the NCSI girls’ water polo tournament Saturday at Santa Ana Valley.
The Falcons (16-6) went undefeated in four games to win the title for the second consecutive year. Saddleback finished second and Santa Ana was third.
Nancy Arias had four goals and Blanca Chavez had six saves in the title game for Santa Ana Valley. The Falcons defeated Saddleback, 9-1, in a third-round game earlier in the day.
The NCSI--which stands for No Club Swimmers Invited--was started four years ago by Falcon Coach Fred Lammers. The 12-team tournament is restricted to athletes with high school training only.
