Anderson Powers Ventura to 3-2 Victory

Brian Anderson played a part in all the goals for Ventura High in a 3-2 victory over San Marcos in a Channel League boys’ soccer game Tuesday at San Marcos.
Anderson scored twice and assisted once for the Cougars (10-2-3, 2-0 in league play), ranked No. 9 in the region by The Times.
Monroe 2, Kennedy 1--George Quiroz scored twice in a Valley Mission League opener at Monroe (3-1).
Calabasas 4, Crossroads 0--Brian Ford had two goals and an assist in a nonleague game at Calabasas (10-3-3).
Hart 3, Valencia 0--Mike Caso scored two goals and the Indians (11-5-3, 3-0) won a Foothill League game at Valencia.
Sylmar 4, Van Nuys 0--Jose Lozano and Jose Lazcano each had two goals and an assist in a Valley Mission League game at Sylmar (7-5-3).
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Van Nuys 3, Sylmar 0--Claudia Passalacqua had two goals in a Valley Mission League opener at Van Nuys (7-3-1).
Quartz Hill 6, Antelope Valley 0--Kellie Cox and Shauna Cabriales each scored two goals and the Rebels (10-2-1, 2-0) recorded their seventh shutout in a Golden League game at Antelope Valley.
Canyon 10, Burbank 0--Jaime Rendich and Nicole Norris each scored three goals in a Foothill League game at Canyon (14-1-3, 2-1).
Rio Mesa 3, Oxnard 1--Jimmy Heathcote scored two goals in a Pacific View League game at Rio Mesa (9-5-2, 2-0).
