SEASON AT A GLANCE: Ruiz, who averages 21.5 points, has scored more than 20 points in eight of 14 games. She has made 43 of 123 three-point shots. “She works better the more pressure she is under,” Santa Paula Coach Emily Stenzel said. “She’s got great ability to be a clutch player.”
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Ruiz scored a school-record 43 points Friday against Fillmore. She became the first girls’ basketball player in school history to break 40 points.
