Jackson Selected for State Energy Panel
Assemblywoman Hannah-Beth Jackson on Monday was named to the new Assembly Committee on Energy Costs and Availability.
Jackson (D-Santa Barbara) said her main goal will be to make sure people are protected by any policy decision made by the state Legislature.
Assembly Speaker Robert Hertzberg (D-Sherman Oaks) picked Jackson after she asked to be on the committee, said Janice Rocco, Jackson’s chief of staff.
The new committee will begin hearings Thursday, Rocco said.
Public hearings on the energy crisis and how best to deal with it will be held throughout California. Rocco said a hearing will be held on the Central Coast, but did not have details.
