Several road closures are scheduled Saturday during the Southern California Half Marathon and 5K event benefiting Canyon Acres Children’s Services.
Organizers say the event is the “official warmup race” of the Los Angeles Marathon on March 4.
Saturday’s race starts at the Woodbridge Village Center, between Lake and Creek roads, on Barranca Parkway at 7:30 a.m. Traffic will be closed in both directions from 6 a.m. to noon at the following locations:
Jeffrey Road from Irvine Center Drive to Alton Parkway, Valley Oak from Irvine Center Drive to Alton Parkway, and Barranca Parkway from Creek to Lake roads and from Jeffrey Road to Sand Canyon Avenue.
The bike trails at San Diego Creek between Lake Road and Sand Canyon Avenue and the Bio Science path between Sand Canyon Avenue and Pacifica will also be closed.
Canyon Acres provides care for Orange County children and families in abusive and emotionally troubled circumstances.
Race information: (866) 395-1313.
