Stepson Held in Man’s Fatal Beating
A Long Beach man died Tuesday after his teenage stepson allegedly beat him with a sledgehammer, police said.
Witnesses saw Sidney Taylor being beaten by Alejandro Bueso in the frontyard of their home in the 2200 block of East 64th Street on Monday night, said Officer David Marander.
Taylor, 50, also suffered what appeared to be several stab wounds to the head and torso, police said.
He died about 2:10 a.m. Tuesday at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center after surgery.
Bueso, 18, had turned himself in to the South Gate Police Department about an hour earlier, Marander said. He was being held without bail.
Rain had not washed away the faint trail of blood that remained on the walkway of the one-story house Tuesday.
In a separate incident, the owner of a Seal Beach picture framing shop was found stabbed to death Tuesday in his Long Beach home, authorities said.
James Irwin Moore, 56, was last seen in his shop about 5 p.m. Saturday, Long Beach Police Sgt. Steve Filippini said.
Information regarding these incidents should be reported to homicide detectives at (562) 570-7244.
