More Pink Slips at Webvan:
Webvan Group Inc., which sells groceries and other goods over the Internet, said it fired 53 more workers in Dallas than reported a week ago, bringing the number let go to 273, or 6% of its work force. Webvan had said last week it fired 220 workers and halted its Dallas operation to save money and focus on turning a profit in its nine other regions. The additional 53 workers fired were management and support staff, a spokesman said. Shares in the Foster City, Calif.-based company closed off 6 cents at 28 cents on Nasdaq.
