Harvard-Westlake 2, Bishop Montgomery 0--Tracy Lansing and Jamie Artsis scored first-half goals and goalkeeper Dana Reyes needed to make only two saves in a Division IV quarterfinal at Bishop Montgomery.
Lansing opened the scoring in the 22nd minute on Kim LaVere’s assist when her shot deflected off the right goal post.
Artsis, who did not score during Mission League play, scored in the 40th minute of the first half and the Wolverines avoided being eliminated by the Knights for the third consecutive season.
Harvard-Westlake (17-3-4) dominated possession in the first half, taking 12 of the 13 shots, including the first 10.
Renee Scachetti took Bishop Montgomery’s shot, a drive from just inside the midfield stripe, which Reyes easily collected.
The Del Rey League champion Knights (17-7-2) took control early in the second half. Scachetti fired a shot in the seventh minute that went high and Reyes made a save on her free kick four minutes later.
Harvard-Westlake allowed only one more shot over the next 25 minutes, Katie Bartik’s header which went wide.
The Wolverines had more shots, 16-6.
Harvard-Westlake plays Corona del Mar at home on Tuesday.
