Clinton Calls Tax Cut ‘Appropriate’

Former President Clinton said he supports a tax cut to stimulate the economy as long as it doesn’t boost the country’s budget deficit.
“I think it would be appropriate to have some kind of tax cut,” Clinton said in a speech in New Orleans at a software conference.
Clinton said he didn’t want to get into specifics on what type of tax cut would be best, although he advised Congress and President Bush to carefully review the numbers before making any change.
