Re “Teaching How to Give Stirs Doubts in Business Schools,†Jan. 29: Making money--especially “big moneyâ€--takes time, which means that dedicated money-makers (Bill Gates is a good example) generally know less about the human condition than the man on the street.
Any simple examination of the wealthy spending their hard-earned moneys shows that almost all of it goes into personal lifestyles fundamentally wasteful of our natural resources: estate development, expensive automobiles or other excesses. And this doesn’t even scratch the surface of what they may have done to our resources and environment to make that money.
