More Hotel Fee Add-Ons
Regarding “Another Hotel Add-On,†Letters, Nov. 18: We spent one night in early October at Miramonte Resort in Indian Wells, near Palm Springs. At checkout we were charged a $13 “resort fee.â€
When we questioned this, we were told it was to cover the stack of L.A. Times newspapers in the lobby for guests, the packet of coffee in the rooms, a parking space and landscaping.
We paid the fee grudgingly. I guess this is the new mode of getting the most possible from the consumer.
