Supervisors’ Salaries

It is my understanding that you consistently understate the Ventura County supervisors’ salary. Perhaps my information is incorrect. I understand that their salary is $85,000 net--after all taxes, federal and state, are paid on their perks and salary by the county.

It is further my understanding that their income--if stated correctly--would be somewhere between $125,000 and $150,000. I understand that their retirement pay, as stated by the press, is also a net figure--after all taxes are paid.

Please clarify this. I believe that the people may be misled by your statement of their salary. Salary and net income may be subject to erroneous usage in the press. Most of us understand salary to be gross before taxes, not a tax-free net after taxes.
