Quints Doing Well After Arriving 15 Weeks Early
Quintuplets delivered 15 weeks early in Moorhead, Minn., were faring well in a hospital neonatal intensive care unit.
The three boys and two girls, born to a 29-year-old mother and 32-year-old father Friday, were not due until March 11.
“They’ve had a very good start,†said Dr. Judy Ney, who delivered the babies. “She had a very good pregnancy.â€
The National Center for Health Statistics said that in 1999, there were just 67 births involving five or more babies in the United States.
Officials at the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics have not released any names of the family.
