Boy, a Playoff Would Be Terrible, Wouldn’t It?
The BCS is so boring, especially all those stats. And confusing as well.
I can’t wait for us to return to the 50-year Rose Bowl tradition of the Pac-10 and Big Ten. Then we will have something to get excited about.

Well, it looks as if Miami is going to go 3-0 again and win another national championship.
More tweaking of the BCS is needed. Miami would not be undefeated if it was in a conference like the Pac-10, Big 12, Big Ten, SEC or even the ACC.
But, of course, that’s why Miami joined the lowly Big East. There is no doubt that the BCS is an improvement. The Hurricanes won’t be able to avoid the Florida Gators as they did in 1991.

Last Saturday, the Notre Dame quarterback completed one pass and threw 15 incompletions. Some of those were shovel passes where the ball needed to be in the air for about four yards. This is a team that is on national TV almost every stinking week. This football program has more money than Great Britain, and its quarterback goes one for 16!
Maybe Notre Dame should follow the lead of its Catholic brethren, Gonzaga, and junk the football program to concentrate on baseball and basketball.
The one difference is that when Gonzaga gave up football over 50 years ago, their team hadn’t been on TV even once.

There should be a rule against teams running up the score like we saw in the Colorado-Nebraska game. Coach Gary Barnett should be sent to his room for doing that to a proud team like Nebraska. You can bet the Cornhuskers would never do a dirty thing like that to one of their opponents. I wonder if the ‘Huskers learned anything with this drubbing.
