Coupons Given Away to Help Clean the Air

To encourage residents to help keep the air cleaner, the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District has teamed up with several retailers to offer free coupons providing a total discount of $200 on products and services.
The coupons provide savings on items such as electric lawn mowers, bicycles and bicycle equipment, tuneups and other mechanical services, air duct cleaning, shuttle services, and a variety of foods, beverages and other products.
The coupon giveaway is part of a summer program called “True Blue for Clean Air.” County officials say the county’s air exceeded state health standards for ozone 37 times last year.
The coupons will be available beginning Monday at the district’s office at 669 County Square Drive in Ventura, and at participating retailers, including Home Depot, Toys R Us, Midas Muffler and Ace Hardware.
