Revealing ‘Apes’ Ending
What a difference 33 years makes. I wish! When the original “Planet of the Apes†came out, the reviewer very kindly tried to save me the cost of seeing the movie by revealing the ending!
And now, Kenneth Turan’s done the same thing (“Some Serious Monkey Business,†July 27)!
Maybe some of us have actually read the novel and remember it! (“This new planet is not Earth, humans on it can talk and the inevitable twist at the film’s conclusion goes all the way back to the one featured in Boulle’s novel.â€)
So Tim Burton, while you’re counting your box office, you might notice you’re missing eight bucks or so ...
