Mexico-Born Students

* Theodore R. Mitchell has stated that the children of illegal immigrants should be allowed to enter the UC system, if qualified, but with payment based on in-state residency (“Busted From College Because of Where They Were Born,” Opinion, April 15).
Vicente Fox, president of Mexico (whom I greatly admire), has stated that he represents all Mexicans; i.e., those in Mexico and those in the U.S., both legally and illegally.
I agree that those qualified students should be allowed to enter the UC system. However, here is the solution: Have the Mexican government pay the difference between in-state tuition and out-of-state tuition for those students accepted. Problem solved, if Fox means what he says.
