Newbury Park 2, Simi Valley 0--Chrissy Zappia (6-0) pitched a one-hitter, struck out 10 and walked three in a Marmonte League game at Borchard Park in Newbury Park.
Newbury Park (11-4, 2-3) scored in the fifth on two-out, run-scoring doubles by Sarah Scott and Jenn Dilley.
Hoover 16, Muir 0--Hailey Henning (4-2) pitched her second consecutive no-hitter for the Tornadoes (8-5, 1-0), striking out 12 and walking two in a Pacific League game called after six innings because of the 10-run rule at Muir.
Valencia 1, Burroughs 0--Freshman Christina Ross threw a one-hitter, struck out eight and walked one for the Vikings (13-2, 2-0) in a Foothill League game at Olive Park in Burbank.
Lauren Watson hit a run-scoring single in the sixth.
El Camino Real 6, Granada Hills 0--Megan Zwoyer and Lily Landers each had two hits for the Conquistadores (12-4, 3-0) in a West Valley League game at Granada Hills.
Melissa Coogan (12-4) pitched a two-hitter, striking out 12.
Kennedy 10, Van Nuys 6--Kristin Cookson had a single, double, triple and two runs batted in for the Golden Cougars in a West Valley League victory at Van Nuys.
Alissa Villanueva had four hits and scored twice for Kennedy (8-4, 3-0).
Taft 8, Chatsworth 0--Jillian Johnson (11-2) threw a one-hitter and struck out two in a West Valley League game at Chatsworth.
Stephanie Garcia hit a two-run home run for Taft (12-4, 2-1).
Sylmar 5, San Fernando 1--Vanessa Lira (3-2) pitched a one-hitter and Gabby Barragan hit a two-run triple, and scored twice in a Valley Mission League game at Sylmar.
Brenda Lira added three hits for the Spartans (8-6, 2-1).
La Canada 1, Monrovia 0--Kelly Kalish (6-1) pitched a two-hitter, struck out eight and walked two for the Spartans in the Rio Hondo League victory at La Canada.
Kim Gilmour hit a run-scoring, two-out single in the first for La Canada (8-1, 5-0), which has won 23 consecutive league games.
Oak Park 2, St. Bonaventure 1--Melissa Johnson hit a two-run double in the eighth of a Tri-Valley League game at El Camino Real Park in Ventura.
