Angels to Start 2001 on Road
The Angels will open their 2001 season in Texas on April 3, marking the first time since 1994--when they opened in Minnesota--that Anaheim has begun its season on the road.
The opening trip includes three games against the Rangers followed by three in Oakland. The Angels return to Edison Field on April 10 to begin a nine-game homestand against the Rangers, Mariners and Athletics.
The Angels will play AL West opponents 58 times, AL Central opponents 45 times and AL East opponents 41 times and NL West opponents 18 times. Within the AL West, the Angels will play Oakland 20 times (10 at home), Seattle 19 times (nine at home) and Texas 19 times (10 at home).
