It wasn’t the smoothest offensive performance for Notre Dame High.

But there was nothing wrong with the defense in the Knights’ 31-10 nonleague victory Friday night over host Alemany.

Notre Dame (4-0), ranked No. 7 in the region by The Times, limited Alemany to 38 total yards.

Alemany (1-3) entered the game averaging 285 yards per game.

De’Andre Scott, who entered the game with 431 yards in 68 carries and is regarded as one of the top running backs in the region, was held to minus-one yard in 17 carries.

Armendariz finished with 65 yards in 12 carries to spark a 248-yard rushing attack for the Knights.
