COLLEGE ROUNDUP
Second-ranked Villa Park was declared the winner over fourth-ranked Irvine in a nonleague girls’ golf match Monday when darkness at Tustin Ranch forced the teams to revert to the scores from the first half of the match played last Thursday at Oak Creek.
Both coaches agreed to use the first-half scores if the teams couldn’t complete Monday’s round because a delay at Tustin Ranch had forced a 5 p.m. start.
The teams completed eight holes before it became too dark to continue, so Villa Park was declared the winner, 118-121. The Spartans were also leading when the match was called.
