New traffic controls will be placed on Mission Hills Lane to reduce speed and increase the safety of children in the area.

The City Council voted last week to post four-way stop signs at Mission Hills Lane and Starwood Drive, and to establish a 25-mph speed limit there.

Council members also approved stop signs at Camino de Bryant and Maiden Moor Lane, and stops on Applecross Lane and Glaramara at Camino de Bryant.

Tim Rohm, a resident on Mission Hills Lane, asked the council to slow traffic in his neighborhood. He asked not only for the four-way stop, but also stop signs at Mission Hills and Crescent Drive. Rohm also asked the city to post traffic signs alerting drivers to children playing in the area. The City Council denied both of the latter requests.
