Lancisero Leads El Modena, 47-6

Adam Lancisero rushed for 190 yards in 16 carries to help spark El Modena to a 47-6 nonleague victory over Sunny Hills on Friday at Buena Park High.
Using nine different ballcarriers, the Vanguards (2-0) pounded out 287 yards rushing. Lancisero started the scoring with a 69-yard touchdown run with 6 minutes 44 seconds left in the first quarter.
Sunny Hills (0-2) ventured into El Modena territory only twice during the game, scoring once on a 22-yard pass from Nick Rodriguez to Jason Murchison with 6:15 remaining in the first half. The score capped a five-play, 48-yard drive.
El Modena scored on 20-yard interception returns by Duane McCabe, with 6:31 remaining in the first quarter, and Michael Pitre, with 6:06 left in the third quarter.
The Vanguards gained 350 yards in total offense. El Modena quarterback Kevin Brown completed five of 11 passes for 46 yards and two touchdowns. McCabe had two catches for 23 yards for the Vanguards.
Rodriguez threw for 44 yards on seven-of-16 passing with one touchdown for Sunny Hills. Kaleo Igarta ran for 37 yards in 13 carries.
El Modena scored on four of its first five possessions in the first half, including Buddy Klovstav’s 22-yard field goal as time expired in the first half. El Modena scored on six of its nine possessions.
On the game’s initial drive, El Modena marched from its 14-yard line to Sunny Hills’ 43, when Lancisero fumbled and the Lancers recovered. But the Lancers were unable to get a first down.
Late in the second quarter, El Modena produced its longest drive of the game, going 53 yards in seven plays and scoring on McCabe’s six-yard touchdown reception from Brown, giving El Modena a 28-6 lead.
