Priscilla Presley Elected to MGM Board

* MGM Inc., owner of one of the world’s largest film libraries, said Priscilla Presley, an actress and widow of singer Elvis Presley, was elected to the company’s board of directors. The board increases to 11 with Presley’s election. Presley is founder and chairwoman of the advisory board of Elvis Presley Enterprises. She has appeared in several films and has written an autobiography.

* Lawrence H. Hayward has taken on the role of chairman at Leslie’s Poolmart Inc., the Chatsworth-based pool supplies retailer. Hayward, president, chief executive and director, replaces Brian P. McDermott, who has been chairman since January. McDermott will remain on the board.

* Christopher Jones has been appointed vice president, marketing, of Saban Consumer Products with responsibility for all marketing strategy. Before joining Los Angeles-based Saban, Jones worked at Mattel Inc. and was involved in its Hot Wheels marketing.

* Entertainment marketing and licensing agency Salerno & Associates Inc. has named Jack Westerkamp director of licensing. A former Imax Corp. subsidiary executive, he will be responsible for worldwide licensing ventures.
