Bob Brannon funded an $8,000 artist-designed bench in the park where his wife, the late Maryellen Enright Brannon, used to walk every day in the cool morning air. She died March 26, 1999, of cancer. The bench, titled “Rock Pile Carve,” was unveiled in a ceremony last week.
The bench, constructed of stainless steel cutting through a simulated rock, sits near the gazebo on Cliff Drive, overlooking the surfing spot Rock Pile.
Hollywood-based artist George Stone’s work was chosen from 13 entries in an Arts Commission-sponsored contest.
