BREA
The City Council unanimously approved sending a request--and a $6,000 fee--to the Local Agency Formation Commission to begin annexing about 35 acres on the northern boundary of Brea at Birch Street and Valencia Avenue. The land is slated for a Brea Sports Park, should the plan pass the environmental review process in the next few months.
The Sports Park Plan was presented to the public at a meeting on Aug. 17, where it received mixed reviews because residents felt the park was too small.
